DANCING QUEEN A TRIUMPH!

Thank you for the music! 

That was the message that came through, loud and clear from Saturday’s audiences at Oriana’s superbly executed concert, Dancing Queen: A Tribute To ABBA And Queen, at Stella Maris Performance Centre, Maroochydore. 

Playing to a sellout house in the afternoon, and to an approaching-capacity crowd in the evening, Oriana Choir and Sunshine Coast Youth Choir delivered a show which had its audiences enraptured from the very first note of the very first number – “Dancing Queen”, of course. For ninety minutes, choirs and soloists performed the best of ABBA and Queen, with an energy and dynamism that was truly contagious. It was transparently obvious that everyone on stage was ‘having the time of their life’, and that joy and exhilaration easily communicated itself to the audiences. 

Oriana have been bringing beautiful music, beautifully performed, across many genres, to Sunshine Coast audiences for nearly twenty years. The love that they have for the music they perform is clearly evident in their faces. And the joy that they’ve felt, and feel, in preparing this show for you cannot be overstated.

Feedback from last weekend’s performances has been overwhelmingly positive. Some people have said it’s the best choral concert they’ve ever been to. Others have said they had no idea that such an accomplished vocal ensemble existed on the Coast. 

If you want an afternoon/evening of feel-good music, it’s hard to go past the songs of these two classic bands. And when they’re presented to you by an ensemble of Oriana’s calibre, backed by the superb band assembled for the show, you are virtually guaranteed a truly memorable, thrilling experience.  

There are two performances of Dancing Queen this coming Saturday at The J, Noosa. If you haven’t booked your tickets, but still want to see the show, you’d better hurry, because both matinee and evening shows are very close to being sold out.
