A huge year ahead for Oriana! Our first concert of the year is 'Everything's Coming Up Roses', a concert dedicated to Mothers, to be held at Flinders Performance Centre at Matthew Flinders Anglican College in Buderim on the 15th of May. Rehearsals are in full swing and the concert promises something for all. With everything from musical theatre favourites and Irish folk songs to modern classics, a couple of tickets to the concert will make the perfect Mothers' Day gift. Tickets are available now range in price from $15 for children and $30 for concessions to $45 for an all-inclusive VIP Mum's Pass with champagne, afternoon tea, chocolates and flowers!
The concert will be the first official Oriana Arts Inc event for new Music Director Sandra Milliken. Sandra stepped in at the last minute to lead the choir's 2015 Broadway concert to great acclaim and has now been appointed to take the helm for Oriana's next season.
A highly acclaimed composer, conductor, adjudicator and music educator based in Brisbane, Sandra has had a long involvement with choral music and with Oriana. She currently also conducts the Bayside Divas and at the most recent Heritage Queensland Eisteddfod led the Blackstone Ipswich Cambrian Choir to the Grand Champion Choir title.

We're taking you on the trip of a life time...its A Night on Broadway!
When we arrive we'll jump in a yellow cab, grab a New York slice for quick bite to eat then take in the bright lights of time square as we make our way to the theatre district. And the best thing is, we don't have to choose just one show - we can see them all!
We're having such fun at rehearsal preparing what promises to be a great show of old favourites, quirky modern numbers and of course, the showstoppers. Hope you can join us for one of our two shows. Saturday night is a cabaret style with deli and dessert platters on tables for eight and the Sunday matinee is concert style.
For all the details head to our Events page. The concerts will be held at the Lake Kawana Community Centre on Saturday the 5th of December at 7:30pm and Sunday the 6th of December at 2:00pm.
Sunshine Coast Oriana Choir is proud to invite the Victoria Chorale from Melbourne to join with them in presenting Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Victoria Chorale has been singing wonderful choral music throughout Victoria since 1993. Like Oriana, the choir has earned a reputation for the excellence, diversity and warmth of its performances and the camaraderie amongst members.
We'll be presenting concerts in both Melbourne and on the Sunshine Coast with our wonderful orchestra and some incredible soloists. Joining us on the Sunshine Coast will be Natalie Peluso, Sally-Anne Russell, Phillip Prendergast and Sam Hartley.
For all the details head to our Events page. The Sunshine Coast concert will be held at the Lake Kawana Community Centre on Sunday the 13th of September at 2:00pm.

The Sunshine Coast Oriana Choir, current Queensland Grand Champion Choir, and the Sunshine Coast’s premier vocal group, are offering a unique opportunity for MALE singers to join this renowned and respected group. Vacancies exist in the Tenor and Bass sections of the choir and interested singers are invited to audition at our rehearsals in Buderim this week and next. This is the best time to join the choir, as it is the start of a new rehearsal season.
As members of the choir, each week singers receive great vocal tuition that develops and improves pitch, listening skills, sight reading, diction, phrasing, breathing, music theory and performance skills.
Members also participate in varied musical performances each year, some with orchestra. Over the next 18 months Oriana has plans to travel to Melbourne and Toowoomba and to tour Eastern Europe, on our second international trip. Also planned are concerts with orchestra, a Broadway Revue and Christmas Spectacular.
Singing with the choir is challenging and a lot of hard work but offers great personal rewards: friendships, sense of purpose and community, camaraderie and of course, the satisfaction of making MUSIC together. Singing in a choir is the hobby with SOUL.
Joining the Sunshine Coast Oriana Choir means becoming a part of one of the Sunshine Coast’s most vibrant and successful community groups. With the committed contribution of each member, we strive for performance excellence and provide opportunities for continuing musical development, volunteering, personal enjoyment and fulfilment.
Being able to read music and previous choral experience are advantageous but not essential. For more information call 0431 542 343 or come along to our rehearsal at the Immanuel College Junior School Hall on Thursday night at 7:00.
