Oriana's Turning Twenty - What's to Celebrate?...Well Plenty!

Oriana Choir’s final season for 2025 is going to be something special.

This year we’ve given you a glittering presentation of the best of Billy Joel and Elton John, in The Piano Men; and The French Connection, a multi-faceted programme of beautiful music, ancient and modern, from la belle France.

And now, the Choir is in rehearsal for a fabulous and joyous celebration of twenty years of glorious music-making. The Oriana Choir 20th Anniversary Gala concert, coming up in November, will be an affectionate, nostalgic, proud look back at some favourite moments in what has been an incredible musical journey.

From Oriana’s very first public appearance, through countless concert performances presenting a multitude of musical styles and genres; eisteddfod participations; three international tours; flash mobs; collaborations with other choirs and orchestras; small ensemble ventures and more; this concert will really have ‘something for everyone’ – a banquet of Oriana delights. Not exactly a ‘greatest hits’ package, but certainly some of Oriana’s finest moments revisited.

From Mozart’s Requiem to Simon and Garfunkel; from Handel to Elton John; from Verdi to Cole Porter, this will be an occasion to showcase Oriana’s growth and versatility over the past two decades.

For this celebration, we’re delighted, and excited, by the fact that a number of our past Music Directors have agreed to join us as special guest conductors. Together we’ll be revisiting some of the songs in which they led us in past performances. And in addition, we’ll be joined on stage by past choir members, for a rousing finale to the entire proceedings.
